1. Let's Meet Sasa and Evgenii

Sasa Kuridza and Evgenii Tilipman, are both experienced front-end developers working as a part of the Veza Digital internal team.

With his extensive expertise in Webflow, Sasa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table.

As a full-stack developer, Sasa has played a pivotal role in numerous projects, leveraging the power of Webflow to create stunning and highly functional websites.

Sasa’s deep understanding of Webflow's intricacies and its ability to optimize its potential makes them an invaluable resource for aspiring entrepreneurs, current business owners, and company managers seeking to enhance their online presence.

Evgenii brings a unique blend of creativity and technical prowess to the discussion.

As a senior Webflow developer and designer, Evgenii possesses an exceptional eye for aesthetics and an innate understanding of user experience.

Evengii’s expertise lies in crafting visually captivating websites while ensuring optimal functionality, setting them apart in the industry.

In the podcast, they discuss their experiences with Webflow.

They delve into the pros and cons of using Webflow for fast development and highlight the limitations they encountered.

Despite the challenges, they recognize the advantages of Webflow for marketing websites and emphasize the need to understand clients' requirements before deciding on the platform.

The conversation touches on the role of designers, developers, and SEO experts in creating a successful website and the importance of collaboration among team members.

While acknowledging the drawbacks, they praise Webflow as one of the best front-end platform builders they have come across.

2. Webflow Capabilities…The In’s & Out’s & In Between

Sasa and Evgenii discuss the capabilities and limitations of Webflow as a tool for web development.

They compared it to other platforms like Bubble and emphasize the importance of having at least basic coding knowledge for more advanced projects and serious clients.

They also highlighted the need for a well-rounded team consisting of developers, designers, SEO strategists, and content writers to create functional and visually appealing websites.

The conversation touched on various use cases, including building an Apple-like website, and the integration of tools like Flow X and MemberStack.

They also discussed the significance of niche expertise and the value of titles like expert or senior in the industry.

Additionally, they mention the concerns surrounding Webflow's certification process and the potential risks of relying solely on self-proclaimed experts.

3. Webflow Experts

Evgenii explained that people often ask him, "Hey, what exactly is a Webflow expert?"

People would question why some individuals claim to be experts when they struggle to complete certain projects that may seem simple, both Evgenii and Sasa believe it's a valid concern.

Sasa explained that becoming a Webflow expert is not just about knowledge; it also requires personal experience. The certified test for experts is a great starting point, as it provides a sense of direction and helps determine the learning curve associated with the tool.

Sasa believes that it's essential to periodically take these tests as reminders and to stay updated with the platform.

With diverse projects, it's easy to forget certain things, so it's helpful to engage in test-driven learning and even create projects for fun.

Sasa continued to further explain that for a developer to identify as a truly exceptional Webflow expert, you need someone with a strong background in front-end coding languages.

While many people are familiar with JavaScript, being comfortable with it daily through regular practice is crucial for accomplishing complex tasks.

Unfortunately, not everyone has the time to devote to continuous learning, which can lead to becoming rusty in certain areas.

Evgenii explained that over the past few months, he has been more involved in project management, ensuring the Veza internal team's well-being and handling content-related tasks.

He also noticed a decline in his CSS animation skills, forcing him to revisit Stack Overflow for vanilla JavaScript solutions that used to be second nature.

He says practicing regularly is necessary to maintain a certain skill level and deliver under tight deadlines, especially in an agency environment where the pressure is intense.

Both Sasa and Evengii agreed the deadlines can be brutal.

However, as developers, they also evolve and gain additional responsibilities beyond coding.

They started as designers but grew to love development. Their roles have expanded to encompass various tasks and responsibilities, including working with people, leading teams, and establishing project architectures.

It's an ongoing learning process that helps them become well-rounded professionals.

Final Thoughts

The convenience of Webflow lies in its flexibility. Both Sasa and Evegenii agree that you can use Webflow as the primary front-end tool while setting up your server, integrating various tools like MemberStack or Formly.

This way, even if one tool experiences downtime, you can swiftly replace it without significant disruptions.  Both believe that Webflow's versatility is a remarkable advantage.
